To Truly Understand

We offer Biblical direction in understanding God's Holy Word, the King James Version of the Bible. Studying the Bible must be accomplished using known mandatory methods. No one can claim knowledge of His Word because they state: they just believe what they believe, it is their opinion, they had a dream, a commentary stated, their preacher stated, or etc, etc. Not I, nor anyone else may claim understanding because of any of the aforementioned!

The only assurance one may have of their understanding being correct is: because “The Bible States”: etc, etc. There are five known methods or elements for a clear understanding of God's Holy Word. They are listed below along with their scriptural authorities and references.

Method 1, 2, & 3

Method 4

Method 5

Method 1, 2 & 3

Method #1

Must be a Christian.

The Bible states: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1Cor. 2:14  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2Cor. 4:3,4. Verse four also tells us that Satan does not want people to become Christian.

Method #2

Faith

Definition of faith is: taking God at His word. The Bible states: For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written The just shall live by faith. RMS. 1:17  But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb. 11:6 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Hebs. 11:8

Method #3

No Debating

No debating God's Holy Word. Debating God's Holy Word has become spiritual gymnastics. Many adult Sunday School Classes love to have two sides of some issue presented and then let the participants take turns trying to outdo the other side. That is terribly disrespectful to the Lord God Almighty. Truly the participants are trying to be righteous while avoiding being accountable to the Lord Jesus.  Remember; it is always, The Bible States.  It is extremely important to have, to read, and to trust the correct Bible. The correct Bible is not one of the thousand or so, so called modern translations.

God puts those who debate His Word in the same categories as murderers and fornicators: The Bible States: Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whispers RMS. 1:29. For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such a I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: 2 Cor. 12:20

The Corinthians debated over who they were to follow. It led to divisions within the church. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos are ye not carnal? 1Cor. 3:3,4,

Method 4

Method #4

Cannot go beyond His Word.

Method #4 is a close kin of method #3.

The Bible states:  Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Deut. 4:2 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deut. 13:32 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 1 Thess. 4:6  When someone has or is going beyond God's Holy Word they are trying to defraud and impose something sinful on Christians. Preachers are the worse violators of this Godly command. Modern translations of God's Holy Word are also violators, but preachers who use a modern translation are the worst. In Deuteronomy 4:2  the Bible states: people are not to add to or diminish ought from it. In the same verse, the Bible gives the reason why, which is: a bible changed from the original Holy Bible will oppose itself. Read Deuteronomy 4:3,4. And, 2 Tim. 2:24-26

If it has been hard for you to keep the Bible's commandments it could be that someone has added to or diminished from God's Holy Word. The Bible States: For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His Commandments are not grievous. 1John 5:3 The most dreadful example of someone going beyond and then having great consequences that others must endure is Eve in the Garden of Eden: The Bible States:  (Eve stated:) But the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Gen.3: 3 God did not say they could not touch it. When we go beyond scripture we are telling God: “We got 'this”, I don't need you.”  Good luck, it will be needed.

Numbers 15:37 thru chapter 16:50 {Please read} tells of Korah who tried to diminish some of God's Word, and then add other things to His Word, giving him authority to get rid of Moses. It seems to me that what went on in the camp of Korah and his followers is going on in the world today. God does not lie, the end result will be the same.

The Bible States: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matt. 5:18 Today the Lord God uses the law to let us (in the Age of Grace) to know what sin is, and make us aware of our guilt so as to come to the Lord Jesus to be redeemed.

Method 5

Method #5

Must be read in context.

In context may be accomplished with understanding of dispensationalism and hermeneutics. Dispensationalism is reading God's Word and applying it to the time frame (age) for which it was written. For instance we cannot live as Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden. It was okay, until they sinned, that is for the couple to live having their bodies uncovered. After they sinned they recognized they were naked and made a feeble attempt to cover themselves with leaves. For your convenience, I have placed a Dispensation Chart on this web site.

We, living in the “Church Age” sin if we try to go back and live the way people did in a previous age. Most of the book of Galatians is about people being saved by grace and sin by trying to live righteously as they did in the “Age of Law.”  The Bible states: “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” Gal. 1:6,7.

The Age of Grace came about by Jesus Christ offering Himself on the Cross of Calvary for our sins. There is nothing we can do to be counted as a righteous Christian other than accept His Grace and live therein. Today, born again people, “Christians,” are having a terrible struggle trying to live in grace and forego law. Christians cannot turn their back on the salvation provided by Jesus Christ and not suffer consequences. Forgoing grace and living under law or some other age is called Apostasy. Apostasy is also identified by: The Bible States:  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed the son of perdition; 2 Thess. 2:3 The apostasy part is: “there come a falling away first.” Satan and his emissaries are deceivers. They deceived in the Garden of Eden and they are still doing so today, it is how they operate.

The Hermeneutic part of reading the Bible in context is:  (Read slowly) A “literal interpretation” asserting that a biblical text is to be interpreted according to the “plain meaning” conveyed by it's grammatical construction and historical context. The Bible States: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2Peter 1:20,21 An aid in knowing hermeneutics is: a scripture that is stated in one place will, in some form, will be stated in another. An example hermeneutics is: And to wait for his Son from heaven whom he raised from the dead , even Jesus which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thess. 1:10. Two things stated in the last phrase of the preceding verse are: God's wrath which is the Tribulation is coming and Jesus Christ has delivered us from it. The Christian who is living by faith in Jesus Christ will not go through the tribulation. Look also at 1Thess. 5:9, RMS. 5:9, and Revelation 3:10

Very closely guard what you read, that includes commentaries. Be careful, do not accept what others state about Jesus Christ, that is without the Bible itself agreeing. It is very rare that I go to any commentary, in fact I don't remember the last time I did. Study God's Word for yourself, He will surely lead you in righteousness.

To keep from being deceived by Satan and his emissaries study God's Holy Word via: 1. Being a Christian 2. Living by faith in the One who bestowed His Grace on you. 3. Do not debate God's Word  4. No one has knowledge of God beyond the Holy Scriptures, 5. Study in context.

Studying the Holy Bible and living therein, in methods 1 thru 5, you will surely have: joy in this life, avoid the coming Tribulation: and then, we will see each other in Heaven. The preceding are promises of The Almighty Himself. God Bless you and Praise Him.

Remember: begin and end praying asking God for His help.

To Christ be the glory, Pastor Boyd Mins
